Lions Help to Protect 27 Million Nigerian Children from Measles

Questo è il titolo della storia della settimana sul L.C. International BLOG. Noi dell’Agrigento Chiaramonte abbiamo contribuito a vaccinare una piccola parte di questi 27 milioni di bambini salvati dal morbillo, mettendo a sorteggio le Opere d’Arte di IncontrArti…Valeva la pena di comunicarlo anche ad Oak Brook. E così si sono complimentati per il nostro Project “Progetto Italia: le nostre azioni umanitarie in Africa“, per il quale abbiamo raccolto ben 500 euro per i vaccini suddetti, con l’originale contributo dell’Arte.

This year, our Foundation set its sights on a huge goal. It was determined to immunize more than 41 million children in Africa against measles.

In February, Lions in Nigeria helped mobilize people throughout the country to bring their children to immunization clinics. In addition to the 27 million children who were given measles vaccinations, 31 million children received an oral polio vaccine and 28 million children received vitamin A, which helps prevent blindness due to poor nutrition. Lions in Nigeria, Mali, Ethiopia and Madagascar have all supported their country’s measles campaigns during the past year.

In this video taken by Foundation staff, you’ll see health care workers weighing babies and giving children life-saving immunizations.

    Maybe you think why this woman from Sicily writes almost every day on your blog. But this woman thinks that everyone’d write every day on this fantastic blog… :-) How much the children are beautiful! To help them in their health is one of the most deserving and admirable activities of Lions worldwide. In this S. Y. we have joined “Progetto Italia, le nostre azioni umanitarie in Africa,” to buy vaccines against measles. We hope that just a little part of 27 million Nigerian children have been immunized by four raffled Artworks from our IncontrArti Exposition: We Serve Youth through Art.
